For any of us who have struggled on a diet comes some sweet news this week.
A new study whose findings were reported in March reveals that a chocolate a day might actually help keep calories off.
Say what? Chocolate is the key to dieting! Sweet!!!
According to a report of the British Broadcasting Corp., researchers at the University of California did as a study of 1,000 people and looked at things like body mass, diet and caloric intake. What they discovered was that people who ate chocolate a few times a week generally were slimmer than those who just ate it occasionally.
Those who did the study believe the makeup of chocolate - specifically the antioxidant compounds, helped to improve muscle mass and reduce weight.
Previously scientists have shared that dark chocolate seems to be heart-healthy.
Before you completely change over your menu choices to all chocolate, the key seems to be not in the amount of chocolate consumed at one setting, but rather the number of times within a week who enjoy chocolate.
Sounds fine by me.
