Editorial: Hats off to the chamber of commerce
Congratulations to the Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce for being named the best small chamber in Michigan this year.
"This award would not have been possible without the extremely supportive membership of the Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce," said Jackie Krawczak, the chamber's executive director. "Thank you for your continued support as we continue to grow and work for business in Northeast Michigan."
Alpena competed in the "small" chamber category against seven other chambers across Michigan. The chambers were judged on accomplishments in leadership and governance, financial stewardship, business advocacy and membership programming.
Judges from chambers across the Midwest were involved in the evaluation process.
Our chamber is blessed with a loyal group of dedicated volunteers whose efforts help assist Krawczak and chamber staff to be able to reach far and wide into the community. From business promotion to leadership development and community marketing, evidence of our chamber's efforts can be seen.
