Rebecca Abend and Michael Smith, both of Spruce, announce their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Arnold (Bunny) Abend of Spruce, and Judy and Gary Becker of Hubbard Lake. Her fiance is the son of Randy and Rhonda Smith of Spruce.
Rebecca is currently pursuing her accounting degree from Alpena Community College. Michael is employed at Coach Craft Collision of Lincoln

The couple will exchange their vows July 16, 2011, at Spruce Presbyterian Church. They are planning and outdoor reception on Hubbard Lake.
