Heather Renee Homant and James Michael Sobek exchanged their wedding vows June 30, 2012 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Alpena. Father Greg McCallum officiated the 1 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Ed and Debbie Homant of Alpena. The groom is the son of Joe and Sallea Sobek of Posen.

Attending the bride as maids of honor were her sisters, Katie Homant and Emily Homant. Bridesmaids were Ashley Misiak, sister of the groom; Tiffany Roberts, cousin of the bride; and Jennifer Lindberg, friend of the bride. Natalie Manzo, cousin of the groom, served as flower girl.

Attending the groom as best man was his cousin, Matt Schuch. Groomsmen were Dustin Misiak, brother-in-law of the groom; Rick Krajniak, cousin of the groom; and Vince Sobek, uncle of the groom. Serving as ring bearer was the bride's cousin, Linkon Meinzinger. Ushers were Trevor Schuch and Brandon Schuch, cousins of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception in honor of the newlyweds was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

Heather is a 2005 graduate of Alpena High School and graduated from Michigan State University in 2009. She is currently working as a middle school social studies teacher in Coldwater. James is a 2005 graduate of Posen Consolidated High School and a 2009 graduate of Alpena Community College. He is currently employed by Premiere Concrete Admixtures in Pioneer, Ohio. The couple is making their home in Coldwater.
