As a 9 year cancer survivor, I am proud to live in a town that is committed to the fight against cancer. With the support of many individuals and businesses, our community raised over $127,000 in August at the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.
In addition to this, 147 people from our community enrolled in the Cancer Prevention Study 3 at the Relay. This important study, involving 300,000 people across the United States, will help us to better understand how lifestyle plays a role in cancer. Together, Alpena is making a difference
The Relay For Life of Alpena County has continued to grow each year and the planning committee needs to also grow at the same pace. A planning meeting will be held Monday, Nov. 19, at 5:30 p.m.
