Annie Lin and Jon Carr exchanged their wedding promises on Sept. 30, 2012 at Marvimon's garden courtyard in Los Angeles, Calif. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Deputy Commissioner of Civil Marriage, Dean Allen, close friend of the bride and groom. May Kao, cousin of the bride, translated the ceremony in Mandarin for the family.
The bride is the daughter of Tien Ting Lin and Tan Liu of Los Angeles. The groom is the son of Bill and Karen Carr of Burton, and Tom and Mary Lappan of Alpena.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in honor of the newlyweds at the interior terrace of Marivmon. An intimate rehearsal brunch was held at KTCHN DTLA. Friends and family from Taiwan, Japan, England, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Michigan gathered for an informal reunion the evening before.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was one of Jon and Annie's dearest friends, Hilary Olmstead. The bridal party included May Kao, Joyce Hsiao and Justine Hsiao. Attending the groom as best man was Jon's brother, Andy Lappan. Groomsmen were Jon's closest college friends, Dean Allen, Ryan Ghiardi and Kyle Koop. Serving as the ring bearer was Benjamin Allen and the flower girl was little Annie Huang.
Annie is a 2000 graduate of Mount St. Mary's College in Los Angeles and a 2002 graduate of University of Southern California with a Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration. She is an education entrepreneur. Jon is a 1999 graduate of Western Michigan University and a filmmaker. The couple resides in Los Angeles.
