Volunteers ready three paper lanterns for their launch Tuesday night for a candlelight vigil for the victims of the Newtown, Conn., massacre at Starlite Beach. After organizer Ashley Young read the names of the 27 victims, volunteers launched a lantern in honor of each one. A large crowd gathered to show their support for the affected community, the victims and the survivors. Young also asked the crowd to make donations to Newtown Youth & Family Services, a nonprofit organization providing free counseling to those affected by the tragedy.
