Pauline King turned 100 years old on Thursday, Dec. 20.
The article in the Alpena News was interesting and her picture portrayed a beautiful lady.
However, perhaps people don't know that she volunteered at Tendercare for 12 years and had to quit at age 99 because she had fallen at home.
I met her at Neiman's about three years ago and after talking to her a few minutes she said, "I've got to get going and go to work," So I said, "where do you work?" She replied, "At Tendercare, taking care of those old people."
I've known Mrs. King most of my life and consider her a vibrant lady. What an example she has set for us to follow. If we have time on our hands, we can volunteer.
God bless you Pauline, Happy Birthday.
