The Alpena wrestling team hosted a four team tournament on Saturday that included Tawas, Oscoda and?Sault St. Marie.
The Sault won the meet at 4-0 while Alpena ended up in a three-way tie for second place with a record of 2-2.
Alpena's first match saw them lose 65-10 to the Sault. The second match was a close 42-39 against Tawas while they beat Cheboygan 52-18 in their third match and Oscoda 45-36 in their last.

Individual winners included Danielle Weaks in the 112 division with a 4-0 record. Daron?Mathia in the 119 division won two of four.
Angelica Patterson in the 125 division won two of four while Connor Day in 135 won two of three. R. J. Centala in 140 and 145 won three out of four.
Dakota Patterson went undefeated in the 160 weight division while J.D.?Niergarth also won four of four in the 171 and 189 divisions. Tom Szatkowski won two of four in the same divisions.
Josh Lafabvre won two of two in the 215 division while Austin Hawks won one of two in the heavy weight division.
Alpena head coach Jake Stenz saw a lot of improvement in his wrestlers.
"The upperclassmen with a lot of experience really pulled through as team laders. Guys like?J.D. and Dakota were imporant leaders through the match," he said.
Stenza also commentd on his up-and-coming light weight and first year wrestlers.
"The lightweights and first years are really showing some improvement on the mat. I've been telling them all year that they're improving and they're starting to prove it to themselves on their parents on the mat," he said.
Alpena wrestles next in Petoskey on Wednesday and then travels to Bay City on?Saturday.
ROSCOMMON-The Rogers City wrestling team took runner-up honors at the Roscommon Duals on Saturday, suffering its only loss to Roscommon in the last match of the day.
The Hurons defeated Grayling (45-28), Traverse City St. Francis (42-30) and Onaway (47-24) before falling to the Bucks 54-27.
Caleb Pommerenke (189) earned his 100th career win, was named Outstanding Wrestler for the upper weight classes and was one of two Rogers City grapplers to go 4-0 on the day. The other wrestler with a perfect slate was Evan Lamb at 135 pounds.
Going 3-1 for Rogers City were: Cameron Urban at 125 pounds, Jake Sobeck at 130 pounds, Austin Bober at 145 pounds, Jack Ryan at 160 pounds and Jared LaFleche at 171 pounds.
Blake Fessler (152) and Corey Schaedig (215) each went 2-2.
Single winners for the Hurons were Grant Popur at 140 pounds and Tommy Vogelheim at 103 pounds.
Traverse City?West 5, Alpena 2
TRAVERSE CITY-The Alpena hockey team ended its weekend trip to Traverse City on a sour note Saturday, losing 5-2 to Traverse City West for its second loss in as many nights.
Alpena (5-5 overall, 1-3 Big North) got goals from two Zach Nash- one in the second period and one in the third period- as well as another strong goaltending performance from Bret LeTourneau who made 43 saves.
Alpena will return to the ice against Petoskey at 7 p.m. Friday at North Lights Arena for a Pink Game to raise money for the fight against breast cancer. Tickets are two dollars and all proceeds will go to Friends Together. Honorary captains will be chosen for the game from among community members whose lives have been affected by cancer and players will wear pink jerseys which will be auctioned off.
