Steve Hunter connects cables to the battery of a vehicle owned by Jim Campbell on Wednesday. Hunter said dead batteries have been common the last several days. He said in order to avoid a car that won’t start a person should have their car or truck inspected before winter arrives. Hunter said the summer’s heat can have a similar affect on car batteries because of the strain they are put under.
