MACOMB-Slow starts were the Achilles Heel of the Alpena Community College basketball teams on Wednesday against Macomb.
The ACC women's team was held to just five first half points and ultimately lost to Macomb 61-33.
Whitney Frazier led the Lumberjacks (6-19, 2-14 MCCAA Eastern) with eight points and Lauren Seibert added six.
The ACC men's team also started off slow and dropped its game to Macomb 77-65.
Lavario Smith paced ACC (6-20, 3-13 MCCAA Eastern) with a double-double, scoring 19 points and snagging 12 rebounds. Kharri Dailey added 18 points.
Both ACC teams return home on Saturday for their final home games of the season. The ACC women will tip-off against Wayne at 5:30 p.m. and the ACC men will follow at 7:30 p.m.
Both teams will conclude the regular season next Wednesday at Mott.
