Nearly a month ago, the Alpena hockey team upset Sault Ste. Marie 2-1 to start a winning streak that has now reached seven games.
The Wildcats are hoping to continue that streak against the No. 3 Blue Devils tonight when the two teams meet at 7 p.m. tonight in Gaylord in a Division 3 regional final.
Alpena (14-10-1) is fresh off a 4-3 double overtime win over Cadillac on Thursday and has a lot of momentum on its side.

Zach Nash was the hero for Alpena on Thursday, netting the game-winner in the second overtime. Cole Cosbitt, Cade MacArthur and Sam Rumbles also lit the lamp for Alpena and Bret LeTourneau finished with 33 saves.
Sault is no slouch though. The Blue Devils (19-8) crushed Cheboygan 11-0 on Thursday and shut out Petoskey 5-0 on Monday.
"They're a good team no matter what," Alpena coach Pete Doubek said. "We need to play our best game and a lot of kids stepped up on Thursday. The playoffs are always exciting because both teams are evenly matched and either team could win."
The teams last met on Feb. 7 with Jared Kwiatkowski and Kam Russell scoring for the Wildcats. LeTourneau had a huge game, making 50 saves.
The winner of tonight's game advances to a quarterfinal on Wednesday against the winner of tonight's Hancock-Houghton game.
