If we lose water supply, it won’t come back

April 1, 2013
The Alpena News

Once fresh drinking water is gone there are no substitutes.

Three hundred million gallons of ground water would be required for 13 hydraulic fracturing (fracking) wells in the Kalkaska area (The Alpena News, 3/25/13). Once chemicals and sand are mixed with the water it will never return to the splendid quality it is now. There are other alternatives for fuels and electricity, but none for water.
