ALPENA - An "Evening of Elegance," the annual fundraiser for All Saints Catholic School, takes place Saturday at St. Anne's Parish Center. This event is the primary annual fundraiser for the school and helps keep down the cost of tuition while still providing the highest quality Christian-based academic education possible.
"This is the 10th year we've had this fundraiser," Principal Nicole Hatch said. "We have staff, parents, and community members helping put on the event."
There will be a silent auction and a live auction before the dinner with prizes ranging from camping packages and trips to airplane rides. Raffle tickets are available for $100 to enter for the chance to win a $10,000 top prize.
"There are 1,000 tickets printed for the $10,000 top prize," Hatch said. "Prizes for the evening giveaway total to $25,000."
Prime rib and chicken are the main dishes on the dinner menu. Dancing will take place until around midnight with entertainment by BK Soundtrax. Tickets for the event are $45 per person and can be purchased at All Saints Catholic School, Jimmie Garant's, Perch's IGA and Catholic Community Parish Offices.
In past years, the school has sold 200-220 tickets, but Hatch hopes to sell all 350 this year.
"If we could fill up, that would be great," Hatch said. "This whole evening is geared around Catholic education and helps us offset the cost of tuition, which is around $1,000 this year and is the lowest in the state for Catholic school tuition."
