First and second grade students from All Saints Catholic School participated in a garbage pickup for Earth Day on Monday by walking around blocks near the school and picking up litter in an effort to cleanup the earth. “They’re so excited about picking up the garbage, and it lets them be outside of the classroom for a while,” teacher Nicolle Wiescowski said. Students excitedly announced when they found large pieces of litter, picking it up with their gloved hands and quickly deposited them into their trash bags. “It’s kind of like an Easter egg hunt, but we’re finding garbage, not eggs,” student Kayla Suto said.
