How many is too many rubber duckies?

June 28, 2013
Nicole Grulke , The Alpena News

ALPENA An Alpena couple was surprised to find something large and yellow floating in their backyard pond on Sunday morning. What they first thought to be a raft turned out to be over 100 rubber duckies floating around the pond, with their owner nowhere in sight.

"We looked out the back window and saw something yellow floating in the pond," homeowner Nancy Losinski said. "The pond is in the back of the yard, so we had to look through binoculars to see what it was."

Hev and Nancy Losinski still don't know who put the rubber duckies in their pond, and have asked neighbors and friends to see if anyone else knew.

"Everybody thinks it's just hilarious," Nancy Losinski said. "I don't know who came up with the idea or where they got the ducks but we think it's funny. I don't think we'll ever find out who put them there. We have no clue."

The Losinski's haven't decided what to do with the over 100 duckies yet, which are still floating around with the currents in the pond.

"I don't know what we're going to do with them," Nancy Losinski said. "There's just so many of them. I don't know where somebody would get that many ducks."
