HILLMAN - Brush Creek Mill and Thunder Bay Resort are teaming up for the annual Teeing off for Kids event on Saturday, to help raise funds for the mill's grant programs and Christmas party. The 18 hole scramble includes 18 holes of golf, a cart and luncheon for participants.
"The tournament is a four-person scramble," Edith Lennox, Brush Creek Mill coordinator said. "All the money we raise goes to children's programs in Montmorency County.
"We have a mini-grant program. Any children's organization or school activity can apply for the mini-grants. This also helps us raise money for our Christmas party this year. The children get pictures with Santa, eat cookies, play games, make crafts and each child gets to pick a book to keep."
The fundraiser also helps support school field trips, Boy and Girl Scout field trips, project supplies for the Montmorency County 4-H program and sponsors activities for the Tiger Paw Park Summer Program for children in Hillman.
Prizes for men's, women's, and mixed teams are available, along with individual events such as longest drive. There also will be a Chinese auction and 50/50 drawings. For more information contact Thunder Bay Resort at 742-4875 or Brush Creek Mill at 742-2527.
