HUNT nabs 5 in Hubbard Lake area on meth-related charges

The Huron Undercover Narcotics Team and Michigan State Police 3rd District Fugitive Team have arrested five people over the last week in connection with methamphetamine production and use in the Hubbard Lake area. The latest arrests come after the Alpena County Prosecutor's Office reviewed the case and issued multiple warrants stemming from a June 2013 investigation in which HUNT executed two search warrants in Hubbard Lake after receiving information from an Alpena County deputy regarding methamphetamine production.

During the search warrant execution HUNT detectives located multiple precursors, components, and containers all used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine at each residence. HUNT detectives also located remnants of several "one pot" cooks at one of the residences.

The following individuals have been arrested and lodged in the Alpena County Jail:

Jason Robert Brower, 32, was arrested on a three count felony warrant for conspiracy to deliver/manufacture methamphetamine, delivery/manufacture nethamphetamine, and operating/maintaining a laboratory involving methamphetamine, all of which are punishable by up to 20 years and/or fines of $10,000 and $25,000.

Gary Allen Brower, 34, was arrested on a four-count felony warrant that included two counts of delivery/manufacture methamphetamine, operating/maintaining a laboratory involving methamphetamine, all of which are punishable by up to 20 years and/or fines of $25,000 and one count of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer, which is punishable by up to two years and/or fines of $2,000.00.

Archal Allis Brower III, 36, was arrested on a five-count felony warrant that included two counts of delivery/manufacture methamphetamine, two counts of operating/maintaining a laboratory involving methamphetamine, and one count of felon in possesion of a firearm. All of the narcotics charges are punishable by up to 20 years and/or fines up to $25,000.00, and the firearms charge us punishable by up to five years and/or fines up to $5,000.00.

A 30-year-old Hubbard Lake woman was arrested on a two-count felony warrant for conspiracy to deliver/manufacture methamphetamine and manufacturing methamphetamine, each punishable by up to 20 years and fines of up to $10,000 and $25,000.

A 29-year-old Barton City woman was arrested on a two-count felony warrant for conspiracy to deliver/manufacture methamphetamine and operating/maintaining a laboratory involving methamphetamine.

The names of the women are being withheld pending their arraignment in the 88th District Court.

Both Jason Brower and Robert Brower were located and arrested in Midland by the Michigan State Police 3rd District Fugitive Team after having left the area after the execution of the search warrants in June of 2013.

According to HUNT Commander D/Lt. Frank Keck, "The arrests of these individuals have gone a long way in combating methamphetamine production in the Hubbard Lake area, but as this investigation continues I fully expect additional arrests in the future, as other suspects are currently being developed," Detective Lt. Frank Keck, HUNT commander, said.
