"I am pleased on how we ran today. This was our first real competition of the year and it gives us a starting point on what we need to do to reach our goals", ACC Coach Mark Jacobs said. "For nine of my runners, this was their first college race. It is night and day comparing a 5K (high school distance) vs. an 8K (college distance). There was some outstanding competition today, and we proved we belonged. Our first five were ahead of Oakland Community College's first five, and they are ranked 18th nationally in preseason polls . We've got some work to do; this team is full of focused, hard workers, and they are not afraid of putting in the extra miles needed."
