Posen football steamrolls Ewen Trout Creek 55-14

EWEN TROUT CREEK- The Posen Vikings football team picked up a 55-14 rout over Ewen Trout Creek on Friday.

This win brings the Vikings to 2-2.

Travis Sharpe scored three times in the first quarter. His first touchdown was a 42-yard run, his second a 30-yard run and his last a one-yard run.

Each of Emil Cramon's extra point attempts were good, for a score of 21-0.

Ewen Trout Creek got on the board in the first off an 11-yard run, but didn't make the two-point conversion

Nick Hincka scored in the second off a two yard run to take Posen to 27-6.

Ewen Trout Creek picked up its last touchdown of the game off a 65-yard run, snagging the two-point for a 27-14 spread.

Brendan Ciarkowski tackled a Ewen Trout Creek runner in the end zone for a safety in the third quarter. Sharpe then scored a four-yard run and a one-yard run, while Hincka scored on an eight-yard run.

Only one of Cramon's extra point attempts was good, to give Posen a 48-14 lead.

The Vikings scored one more time in the fourth, off a one-yard Matthew Wisniewski run. Cramon's extra point pulled Posen to the final 55-14 score.

Hincka picked up two touchdowns and 248 yards on 30 carries. Sharpe had five touchdowns on 17.

Both Hincka and Sharpe led defensively, with 15 tackles apiece.

Posen faces the undefeated Bellaire next week.

Mio 66,?Oscoda 6

MIO-The Mio Thunderbolts picked up a 66-6 rout of the struggling Oscoda Owls on Friday. This win puts the Thunderbolts at 3-1.

Mio was up 19-0 in the first quarter and 47-6 at the half.

The Owls didn't score again, as Mio pulled ahead 59-6 in the third and 66-0 in the fourth.

Bryson Devers led his team on the ground, picking up 137 yards on 7 carries. Chaun Obermiller picked up a 16-yard run.

Quarterback Brad Rhoads picked up 41 yards of rushing, while completing nine passes for 171 yards. He threw four of Mio's touchdowns.

Seth Thomey picked up 63 reception yards, while Obermiller picked up 49. Brian Watson picked up a 30 yard pass, whilE Colton McGregor had 22 reception yards.

Defensively, Scott Blamer led with 10 tackles and one assist. Ryan Ellul had five tackles and five assists. Ellul also had three sacks, while Obermiller had two.

Mio travels to Hillman on Friday.

Onaway 55,

Gaylord St.?Mary 20

ONAWAY-The Onaway Cardinals finally picked up their first win of the season on Friday, in a 55-20 win over Gaylord St. Mary.

The Cardinals and the Snowbirds are now both 1-3. Onaway hosts Mancelona on Friday. Mancelona are 2-2 on the season, and recently picked up a 22-18 win against Central Lake.

Atlanta 61, Hale 0

ATLANTA-The Huskies football squad came out strong in their first win of the season, blanking the Hale Eagles 61-0 on Friday.

Atlanta scored more points in this game, than they had scored all season (42). Hale, coming off a 12-8 win over Oscoda, couldn't hold off the Huskies offense.

Atlanta is now 1-3 while Hale is 1-2. Atlanta faces an AuGres-Sims team that has yet to win a game, losing 36-6 against Mayville last week.
