HILLMAN The Elk Country Animal Shelter's ninth annual Dave Hancock Memorial Dog Leg Open Golf Tournament is in "high gear" with a major sponsorship by Alpena Buick GMC, owned by Gene Skiba.
In addition to bringing in their four-man team, Alpena Buick GMC has generously sponsored hole-in-one event, with the prize of a 2014 GMC Terrain, valued at $25,000.
Golfers are invited to pack up their "hole-in-one" club and join in at Thunder Bay Resort in Hillman on July 27 for a great day of golf. Registration begins at 8 a.m.

There will be a Men's/Women's Putting Shoot Out beginning at 8:15 a.m. First Place wins a 32-inch flat screen, HD television. Don't miss out on the raffle of a 40,000 BTU stainless steel barbecue (donated by Byron Clouse of Ace Hardware of Lewiston), bucket raffle, dinner, 50/50 raffle, skins, and other team/event prizes.
