It's August and it's County Fair time. I urge everyone to participate in the livestock auction at 5 p.m. on the 15. The FFA kids have worked hard to raise their animals and the sale is their final exam. Let the high roller bids and buy the winners of the livestock competition and then bid on the ones that didn't win anything. One year in Wisconsin my company bought the Grand Champion and then I did some bidding on the non-placed animals. My last bid bought the last steer and at the carcass grading several days later it won the competition with a high-prime grade. Have some fun and some great meat. The livestock auction represent everything we valued about living in rural America.
