Visiting Rabbi at Temple Beth-El
Temple Beth-El, one of the few remaining 19th century synagogues in the country, is pleased to welcome a guest rabbi visiting on Saturday, and would like to invite the community to join them in Sabbath services.
Temple Beth-El will welcome Rabbi Maya Leibovich to the synagogue Saturday. Rabbi Leibovich has the distinction of being the first female native of Israel to be ordained as a rabbi. She, with her husband, Menachem acting as cantor, will lead Shabbat morning services starting at 11 a.m. A potluck luncheon will follow the service.
The public is invited to attend, but seating is limited so call 989-595-3544 if you plan to attend.
Temple Beth-El’s Guest Rabbi program is funded in part through the generosity of the Ravitz Foundation Initiative for Michigan Small Jewish Communities and Temple Beth-El members.
Temple Beth-El is located at 125 E. White St. in Alpena.
