Santa Claus is coming to town — in a shiny red fire truck!

ALPENA — The City of Alpena Fire Department is excited to announce they are teaming up with Santa Claus this year to bring Christmas cheer to the city of Alpena.

Santa will be ditching his trusty old sleigh for a shiny red fire engine. He will be hitching a ride with your local firefighters and making his rounds throughout the city over three nights.

Starting at 6 p.m. on Monday, Santa will be making his first appearance on the north side of town, before moving over toward the Island View subdivision, with drive-by appearances near Besser Senior Living, Medilodge of Alpena, and Turning Brook.

At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Santa will be visiting between Campbell Street and the Thunder Bay River.

On Wednesday, Santa will be making his last appearance in town between Campbell Street and Old Washington Avenue.

Keep an eye and an ear out for Ol’ St. Nick! Santa will be riding in the fire truck and will be happily waving at everyone, but will not be stopping to get out of the truck.

Santa and the firefighter-paramedics will be wearing masks and maintaining appropriate social distancing.
