ALPENA — MyMichigan Health Foundation received a donation of $1,500 from Nicolet Bank to renew their Business Honor Roll Membership. The Business Honor Roll not only supports important upgrades and advanced technology at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena, it also connects businesses and their employees to the larger community through a commitment to health and wellness.

Currently, all Business Honor Roll memberships and renewals are being directed to the Alpena Cancer Center, which recently welcomed Glenn Preston, M.D., medical oncologist/hematologist. To accommodate Dr. Preston, the Cancer Center will be undergoing significant renovations, including providing additional exam rooms. Dr. Preston will be joining William Hitzelberger, M.D., medical oncologist/hematologist; Mario Lacerna, D.O., radiation oncologist, and Deborah Griffin, M.S.N., N.P.-C.

According to JoAnn Dehring, vice president and regional manager, Nicolet Bank, “We are proud to support MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. We have a long history of being a community partner with the Medical Center and are appreciative of all they do to care for our staff, families, friends and visitors.”

Ann Diamond, director, MyMichigan Health Foundation, is appreciative of the support of Nicolet Bank: “This bank has been behind the Medical Center in all of their ownerships. From First Federal to mBank to Nicolet Bank; we are very thankful and proud that Nicolet Bank continues the tradition of community support and recognizes the importance of quality healthcare in northeast Michigan.”

Anne Marie Smith, branch manager, Nicolet Bank, assisted in facilitating this donation.

“We are happy to not only renew our Business Honor Roll membership, but also be a significant sponsor of the MyMichigan Aliferis Race,” said Smith. “This donation not only supports the hospital but also promotes healthy lifestyles by endorsing the race.”

The MyMichigan Aliferis Race will be held on Saturday, Sept. 2, and will again include a half marathon, 18.5-mile bike race, bike tour, 5K run and 1-mile run/walk.
