ALPENA — Alpena County Sheriff’s Office and the Alpena Police Department invite you to Bookbags and Badges, a school supply drive from 8 a.m. to noon on Aug. 22 and 23 at Walmart.

The local police departments are currently running a community initiative to collect school supplies for children of all ages. Your generous contribution will make a significant impact by providing essential resources to support students in achieving success in the classroom. Once collected, the officers will personally deliver the donated items to area schools.

Supplies needed include: pencils, pens, highlighters, loose paper, folders, binders, notebooks, water bottles, tissues, hand sanitizer, crayons, markers, colored pencils, backpacks, scissors, pencil cases, and erasers.
