ALPENA — The staff of Wolverine State Credit Union worked hard to put together a fun kick-off to summer, the third annual Summer of Color 5K which took place in June of this year. The event is a colorful 5K with the route decorated in chalk and color stations blasting participants with color as they race to the finish line. This was the third year of the 5K, raising nearly $5,000 for the Boys and Girls Club. This puts the cumulative total this event has raised for the Boys and Girls Club of Alpena to $15,000. Wolverine State Credit Union supports the Club because of the significant impact the Club has on the youth in the community. The union said it is a great place for kids to learn, grow, and feel supported.

The success of this event was possible because of the business sponsorships that generously give back to the community and all the participants who joined in June. The team hopes to continue their work for years to come.
