∫ Art in the Loft, on the third floor of the Center Building at 109 N. 2nd Ave. in Alpena, presents its annual juried art exhibit, called “Food for Thought: The Art of Food.” The exhibit will be on display through Nov. 7, which is Art in the Loft’s annual fundraiser. ∫ MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena has launched “Life As Improv,” a new, eight-week adult support group. During the group sessions, participants will also learn about community resources and connections. The free support group will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Oct. 29 to Dec. 17, with the first session focusing on “Viewing Life as Improv.” Sessions are held in the Behavioral Health Conference Room at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. ∫ The 2024 Walk Against Homelessness and Hunger will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Salvation Army Church, 722 N. 2nd Ave., Alpena. The walk will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Families, children, and pets are welcome. Any donations received will go directly toward local agencies addressing homelessness and/or hunger.
∫ St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church will host its annual Christmas bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at 727 S. 2nd Ave., Alpena. All the traditional offerings will be available, including a cookie walk, needlework nook, country store, and multi-item raffle. The luncheon will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring St. Paul’s Famous Turkey Casserole, cranberry salad, relishes, rolls with butter, dessert, and coffee, tea, and milk.
