∫ Sewing Club meets from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Alpena County Library’s Makerspace. This club is open to all skill levels — newbie to expert, ages 10 and up. Representatives from Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union will provide a demonstration of their mobile app and discuss all things card-related within the app and their new tool, Savvy Money. Although they will be using their own app, knowledge can be transferred to accounts from other financial institutions. ∫ A new women’s cancer support group is offered from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m on Tuesdays at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena’s Cancer Center. All women with cancer are welcome. This is a safe, confidential, peer-to-peer support group.
∫ New Life Christian Fellowship will host a WOVEN women’s gathering from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at 317 S. Ripley Blvd., Alpena. Women are welcome to join this gathering for a shared meal and to hear speaker Patty Spaeth talk about gratitude. This is a free event, open to all women in the community. The event will start with an 11 a.m. ribbon cutting for Olde Mill Coffee, immediately followed by the ribbon cutting for Lady of the Lake Yoga, which is located upstairs in the old Alpena Flour Mill building. Rich Rider will play music from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. At 2 p.m., there will be a 15-minute presentation on the history of Alpena Flour Mill. This event will feature children’s activities, face painting, cupcakes, raffles, and prizes. There will be a gift basket giveaway worth over $200. Olde Mill Coffee will be rolling out its new holiday drink menu and Lady of the Lake Yoga will be rolling out her new class and event schedule.

On Nov. 30 will be the Daniel J. Morrell bell ringing. These events will begin at 1 p.m. at the Great Lakes Lore Maritime Museum. The public is invited to these free events.
∫ A Hunter’s Spaghetti Dinner will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday at Spratt United Methodist Church. This all-you-can-eat dinner will be $12 per person, ages 12 and older, and $6 per child ages 6 to 12. There will be two kinds of sauce, spaghetti pasta, garlic bread, desserts, and drinks. ∫ PIF Cider will host a Lip Sync Battle Royale at 6 p.m. at 205 W. Chisholm St., downtown Alpena. Come compete with your chosen song/performance (5 minutes or fewer). Judges will be scoring for originality, stage presence, and costumes/props. The winner will take home a $25 gift certificate to PIF Cider or receive three months of cider club membership.
