No Longbeards meeting in November

ALPENA — Alpena Longbeards will not have a November meeting, as it falls on Nov. 14. Monthly meetings will resume in December, on the second Thursday of the month, at the Alpena Moose Lodge on Werth Road.

Hope Lutheran bazaar Saturday

HUBBARD LAKE — Hope Lutheran Church will host a holiday bazaar from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at 5462 Nicholson Hill Road, Hubbard Lake.

A soup and salad luncheon will be available for $12, featuring homemade chicken noodle and cream of broccoli soups, a large selection of homemade salads, delicious desserts, and beverages. A raffle will be held, with the first prize being a beautiful queen-sized quilt, second prize a table runner, and third prize a Christmas tree skirt. There will also be a chance auction, cookie and bake sale, pasties, sauerkraut, tomatoes and stewed tomatoes, dilly carrots, dilly beans, pickles, salsa, jams, jellies, canned fruits and vegetables, and crafts. The church is wheelchair accessible.
