Courtesy Photo Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary celebrated their volunteers last week and named their Volunteer of the Year. Jan Knisely-Simons, pictured above right with Volunteer Coordinator Sophie Stuart, received the Betty Krueger Volunteer of the Year award. Knisley-Simons has been a volunteer for nearly 10 years, with 152 service hours in 2024. She is also a member of the Sanctuary Advisory Council. In 2024, Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary has benefited from 2,569 volunteer hours.
