Gordon Snow, left, is seen on Thursday night at an open house organized by Lisa Rhea, right, celebrating his 51 years of service with Alpena Public Schools. Snow worked for the district as a teacher, then principal, retiring in 2000. He taught at Lincoln Elementary for 20 years, then at Besser Elementary for four years, then served as principal of two buildings for 10 years, alternating between Long Rapids, Wilson, and Maple Ridge. He then served on the APS School Board for 17 years, starting in 2008. Rhea, the Alpena Teachers Union president, said, “We just wanted to thank him for everything he’s done for Alpena Public Schools.” Tom Stoppa also helped Rhea organize Thursday’s event.
