Whitford named to Trine University Dean’s List
ANGOLA, Ind. — Spencer Whitford of Rogers City, a Trine University student, earned dean’s list recognition for the Fall 2024 term. Whitford is majoring in Criminal Justice. To earn dean’s list honors, Trine University students must complete a minimum of 12 hours and have a grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.749.
Kalynne Smith named to SNHU Dean’s List
MANCHESTER, N.H. — Kalynne Smith of Lincoln, earned a place on the Southern New Hampshire University Fall 2024 Dean’s List. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the Dean’s List.
Local students on SNHU President’s List
MANCHESTER, N.H. — Southern New Hampshire University congratulates the following students on being named to the Fall 2024 President’s List: Christopher Keller of Posen, Eric Bukowiecki of Atlanta, Zoe Hoops of Alpena, and Deanna Silver of Alpena. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President’s List.
Cooper Bright named to Albion College Dean’s List
ALBION — Alpena student Cooper Bright was named to Albion College’s Dean’s List at the end of the Fall 2024 semester. Albion College’s Dean’s List recognizes students who achieve a 3.5 or better GPA while taking four graded courses.
Atlanta’s Zoie Jones earns 4.0 at NMU
MARQUETTE — Zoie Jones, of Atlanta, was named to the Northern Michigan University Dean’s List for earning a 4.0 grade-point average for the Fall 2024 semester. Jones is working toward a bachelor’s degree in social work.
Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society elects new members
BATON ROUGE, L.A. — Alpena’s Brianna Boyk, of Michigan State University, and Lachine’s Bryce Thomas, of Grand Valley State University, recently were elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.
They are among approximately 20,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10% of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.
