ALPENA — The Alpena Garden Club recently had their first meeting of the year. President BJ Sander opened the meeting. Dues were collected for the year.

Shari Froelich from Harmony Acres Flowering Fields was the guest speaker. She grows cut flowers.

The results of the survey that was filled out by members was shared with those in attendance.

A group of members gather weekly at Alpena Community College greenhouse to start from seed the flowers that beautify the ACC campus and Garden Club sites.

The Garden Club is planning a plant sale in May and a garden walk on July 12. More information will be shared as details are planned.
