Great Lakes Now films showing today, Sunday at Maritime Heritage Center

ALPENA — Today and Sunday, the public is invited to catch “Killer Trees and Sacred Waters” in the theater at the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center.

In this episode of Great Lakes Now, learn how trees are fighting back against the emerald ash borer and what goes into restoring a sacred lake after generations of pollution.

The Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The last weekend of every month will be a Great Lakes Now Weekend featuring the latest episode from partners at Great Lakes Now and Detroit PBS.

This free event is open to all.

The Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center serves as the visitor center for Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary and a museum. There is no admission, and you could plan to explore as well as catch the latest episode of Great Lakes Now.
