Headwaters Conservancy offering free events
The Headwaters Conservancy is hosting upcoming free community events in Hillman and Harrisville.
These are free, insightful meetings about resources available to landowners in Michigan. There will be speakers from local organizations in each county who work with private landowners to steward and manage their land. The Montmorency Landowner Education Workshop will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on April 10 at the Hillman Wright Library, 610 Caring St., Hillman.
The Alcona Landowner Education Workshop will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library, 312 W. Main St., Harrisville.
Hubbard Lake Community Association hosting Library Friendship Day on April 12
HUBBARD LAKE — The Hubbard Lake Community Association is sponsoring Library Friendship Day from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 at the Hubbard Lake Community Center, 1561 Hubert Road.
Lunch will be provided by Hubbard Lake Connect. The cost is $12 per person, and seating is limited. Pre-registration and payment are required by April 5. Please mail your registration forms and payment to the Hubbard Lake Community Association, Attn: Margaret — Story Time, P.O. Box 55, Hubbard Lake, MI 49747, or drop it off at the library in Hubbard Lake.
The event will feature speaker Darby Hinkley, Alpena native who grew up summering on Hubbard Lake, and daughter of local author Mike Cornelius, who wrote books on Hubbard Lake history.
There will also be activities, a silent auction, and prizes.

Used book sale March 28 at MyMichigan Medical Center
ALPENA — MyMichigan Medical Center Volunteers will host a used book sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 28 in the hospital lobby.
MyMichigan Medical Center is now accepting hard and soft cover novels, and children’s books for their monthly used book sale. Textbooks, religious, or magazines are not accepted. Books can be dropped off in the lobby behind the registration desk.
Free Family Game Night March 28 in Ossineke
OSSINEKE — Ossineke United Methodist Church will host a free family game night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 28. The event will feature games, puzzles, and finger food snacks. The public is welcome to attend. The church is located at 13095 U.S.-23 South, Ossineke.
