Dog vaccine clinic April 19 at fairgrounds

ALPENA — Alpena County Animal Control will host a dog vaccine clinic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 19 in the Merchant’s Building at the Alpena County Fairgrounds, 625 S. 11th Ave., Alpena.

Rabies vaccines will be $20, and core vaccines will be $25, payable by cash or check only. This is a walk-in clinic, and no appointments are necessary, but participants are asked to not all come right at the beginning, because the clinic lasts until 3 p.m.

Please keep all dogs on leashes or in a pet carrier. If you know your dog is aggressive, please leave your dog in your vehicle. Those dogs can be vaccinated at the vehicle or make special arrangements to get them done.

Bake sale underway at Alpena Senior Center

ALPENA — Alpena Senior Citizens Center is hosting a bake sale to benefit their meal programs. The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 17 and Friday, April 18 at the center, 501 River St., Alpena. NEMAG presents ‘Anything Goes’

ALPENA — The Northeast Michigan Artists’ Guild (NEMAG) invites the community to their annual exhibit at the Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan from April 25 through July 30.

“‘Anything Goes,’ our topic for 2025, allows us, encourages us, to branch out and perhaps explore new subjects, mediums, designs, colors, style,” a press release noted. “Therefore, ‘Anything Goes.'”

NEMAG promotes and supports art and artists through inspiration, information and education. Artists of all skill levels are welcome and may choose to participate in NEMAG activities such as local exhibitions, workshops, meetings and other events throughout the year.
