Alpena library closed Friday, Saturday

ALPENA — The Alpena County Library will be closed Friday and Saturday in observance of Good Friday and Easter. The library will reopen at 9 a.m. on Monday.

Bridge results announced

ALPENA — Alpena Duplicate Bridge Club results have been announced for this week. Beverley Rousseau and Marcy Sherman placed first, followed by Deanna Brege and Linda Ferguson in second, and Gordon Bennett and Marge French in third. The group meets at 12:30 p.m. on Mondays. Fireworks donations sought

ALPENA — The Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce has begun fundraising for the 2025 Independence Day Fireworks show. They are looking for 50 businesses/organizations/individuals to donate $500+ each to reach the goal of $25,000. To kick things off, the Alpena City Police have pledged the initial $500 donation and are challenging all of Alpena to meet or beat their donation.
