Marwede and Techel exchange wedding vows
Rachael Marwede and Philip Techel were united in marriage on Oct. 2, 2021 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Herron. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Leslie Nye.
Rachael is the daughter of Janet Freeman and Alan Marwede and the granddaughter of Patricia Williams, all of Alpena. Philip is the son of Sharon and Greg Techel of Gaylord.
Jessica Marwede, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Smith, Megan Barkley, Jenna Donajkowski, and Amber Hibbler, all friends of the bride. Also serving as bridesmaid was Jackie Barnes, the groom’s sister. Aria Neumann, the bride’s niece, was flower girl.
Jim Donajkowski, friend of the groom, was best man. Andrew Marwede, brother of the bride, Trent Barnes, brother-in-law of the groom, and Patrick Techel, cousin of the groom, served as groomsmen. Also serving as groomsmen were friends of the groom, Joshua Hibbler and Heather Beckwith. Jacob Neumann, brother of the bride, and Matthew Shedlock, uncle of the bride, served as ushers.
The reception was held at the Presque Isle Lodge. Music was provided by the bride’s brother, Adam Neumann.
Rachael is a graduate of Alpena High School and Alpena Community College. She received her bachelor’s degree in health care administration from the University of Phoenix. Rachael is currently studying to obtain her master’s degree and is employed by Alcona Health Center. Philip is a graduate of Gaylord High School. He is employed by M&M Excavating of Gaylord for 17 years as a heavy equipment operator.
The couple is currently residing in Alpena while building their new home in Presque Isle.
