ALPENA — People seeking a place to warm up and charge their phones and receive meals can go to the following locations in the Alpena area.
Merchant’s Building located at Alpena County Fairgrounds:
Open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (will not turn people away though)
Can serve up to 75 people overnight

MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena:
National Guard setting up warming shelters in tents
“Thanks to the Combat Readiness Training Center Air National Guard team, a powered warming tent has been set up on the campus of MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena near the Annex building. The tent offers community residents a place to warm up and charge their phones. Additionally, an oxygen trailer is expected to arrive on Tuesday evening which will allow individuals using portable oxygen to refill their tanks. Has 40 cots available
Max capacity at 233 people
Serving dinner at 5 p.m. (expecting up to 250 meals to be served)
