A handgun found in a lunch bag in the woods has led to an inquiry by the Michigan State Police-Alpena Post, according to a news release from Crime Stoppers.

The public’s help is needed in identifying the owner of the weapon, a .40-caliber, stainless steel model with wooden grips and loaded magazine, found on Oct. 7 in a wooded area near an Alpena Township apartment complex.
