The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for most of northern Michigan, including Alpena, Rogers City, Atlanta, and Hillman.

The storm watch says heavy snow is possible from Saturday morning through Saturday evening, with possible snow accumulation of 5 to 10 inches, with winds that could gust as high as 35 mph.

The weather alert says travel could be difficult during the storm because of the heavy snow combined with the strong winds.
