Grulke named Pied Piper principal
ALPENA — The Alpena-Montmorency-Alcona Educational Service District Board of Education has appointed Lauren Grulke as the new principal for Pied Piper School.
Grulke graduated from Eastern Michigan University and Oakland University and worked as a teacher at Pied Piper for seven years, AMA-ESD said in a news release.
“I am excited for the opportunity to return to Pied Piper School as the new principal,” Grulke said in a statement. “I look forward to working with students, staff, and parents to continue enriching our students’ educational experiences.”
Pied Piper’s previous principal, Larry Johns, will continue to work at the school as the early childhood teacher consultant.
Pied Piper School serves students ages 3 to 26 who are moderately to severely cognitively impaired, severely multiply impaired, and autistic.
“We are excited to welcome Lauren Grulke as the new principal of Pied Piper,” AMA ESD Superintendent Justin Gluesing said in a statement. “She is a committed advocate for students with special needs.”
