Alcona wins conference volleyball title
LINCOLN — History has been made at Alcona High School, where the 2023 varsity volleyball team is now conference champions for the first time in school history after going undefeated in North Star League contests.
“It feels good to know that I was a part of the first team in Alcona Volleyball history to win a conference championship,” team captain Angelina Howe said. “I’m very proud of all that the team has accomplished this year, we went far.”
“It was a good feeling knowing we pushed ourselves to accomplish a goal we had set before our season started,” fellow captain Emma Travis said.
The team’s coach, Kristi Miller, was also excited for the seniors who finished their high school volleyball career with a bang.
“Many memories have been made and this is definitely a notable one,” Miller said.
Captain Kaylee Wambold also went on to praise the team, saying, “Winning this conference was a huge accomplishment for our team. It took so much hard work and dedication. We played some intense, long games and really persevered to earn it!”
