HILLMAN — Senior standout Trenton Taratuta led Hillman to a 72-51 home-game victory against Posen on Thursday night.

After one quarter, Hillman maintained a small 15-9 lead but would erupt in the second and third quarters, outscoring Posen 44 to 25. Taratuta paced Hillman, scoring 24 of his 30 points in the first half, grabbing 12 boards, and dishing seven assists.

Junior Brenden Rouleau scored 17 to round out Hillman’s scoring and sophomore Xavier Nichols had a nice night, adding seven rebounds and three steals.

Posen was led by Jack Romel with 21 and Logan Timm added 12.

Hillman improves to 6-2 overall and 1-0 in the Little Dipper.

With that win, Taratuta is within striking distance of 2,000 points.
