Alpena 45ers dominate Detroit Warhawks
ALPENA — The Alpena 45ers showcased their offensive power in back-to-back victories over the Detroit Warhawks this weekend, securing a 6-2 win on Saturday and a 10-4 victory on Sunday.
The first game saw the 45ers jump out to an early lead, with Sean Schirripa scoring just two minutes into the opening period.
The 45ers continued their offensive onslaught, adding another goal eight minutes later.
Less than a minute after that, Brody Person found the back of the net, and 30 seconds later, Cody Boudreau scored with an assist from Mike Thompson to push the lead to 4-0.
Boudreau added another goal six minutes into the second period, bringing the 45ers’ lead to 5-0.
Detroit managed to score, but Alpena responded quickly with a goal from Bourdreau in the third period, assisted by Nate Albrecht, to make it 6-1.
Detroit scored again, but the game was already out of reach as the 45ers claimed a 6-2 victory.
In the second game, the 45ers maintained their momentum, earning a 10-4 win over the Warhawks.
The fast-paced match saw multiple players contributing to the score, with the 45ers taking control early and never letting up.
With the two victories, the Alpena 45ers continue through their season with their next game away against the Muskegon Voyagers on Nov. 30. The 45ers will face the Voyagers again on Dec. 7 at Northern Lights Arena.
