Pied Piper performs annual Christmas show
ALPENA — Pied Piper students and staff spread holiday cheer on Wednesday during their performances of The Most Magical Time of the Year, their holiday show. The first recital was at 1 p.m., followed by the second at 6 p.m.
Megan Cousineau, an administrative assistant at the school, said the school has been looking forward to these performances since October.
“The students make crafts, and practice songs and scenes,” Cousineau said.
Lauren Grulke, the principal of the school, said these performances give students the opportunity to perform in front of community members and parents.
“The parents are excited to see their kids perform on-stage, similar to opportunities at other schools,” she said. “The kids love it too because they get to be on stage under the lights.”
Every year, the school decides upon a new theme. This year, the theme was The Most Magical Time of the Year. The Christmas committee, which is composed of one teacher or one paraprofessional from every class, picks a handful of different themes, which are then voted on by some of the eldest students before a final theme is decided.
Pied Piper School goes on holiday break starting Monday.
