PREP ROUNDUP: Hillman, Alcona basketball teams win

The Hillman boys basketball team improved to 3-2 on the season defeating Whittemore Prescott at home on Monday night, 69-36.

Hillman started sluggish on the defensive end in the first half giving up 26 points but scoring 37. The second half was a different story only giving up three points in the third and seven more in the fourth.

Leading the way in scoring for Hillman was senior Brenden Rouleau with 23 points and four steals. Junior big man Evan Crane filled the stat sheet with 17 points, eight rebounds, and four steals, while sophomore Ty Muszynski would record a double/double with 13 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four steals.

“I thought this was a good turnaround game after last Thursday in Tawas,” head coach Eric Muszynski said. “We cut down on our turnovers and really played Hillman Defense in the second half limiting them to 10 points. I like the fact that we continue to have a balanced attack with three guys in double figures again.”

Hillman returns to action Thursday on the road against Charlton Heston.
