PREP ROUNDUP: Hillman boys win, Alcona girls lose
The Hillman High School boys basketball team improved to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the North Star League defeating Hale 63-34 on Monday.
Hillman was led by senior center Evan Crane who had 24 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Ty Muszynski scored 15 points and seven rebounds, while senior guard Brenden Rouleau continued his scoring with 14. Senior guard Cuyler Schultz would continue to facilitate by adding five assists.
“We handled our business early and had another balanced attack scoring,” coach Eric Muszynski said. “It’s nice having multiple guys in double figures again. I would like to see us play more disciplined on the Defensive end as we committed a lot of early fouls (Monday).”
Hillman returns to action on Thursday in Tawas.
Points by quarter were Hillman 17 – Hale 4 in the first, Hillman 14 – Hale 6 in the second, Hillman 16 – Hale 10 in the third, and Hillman 15 – Hale 14 in the fourth.
ALCONA GIRLS LOSE TO GRAYLING
The Alcona girls basketball team lost to Grayling on Tuesday, 50-18.
Alcona was lead by Elliyana Grimshaw with 12 points. Claire Somers added three, Gracyn tracy added two, and Lauren Travis added one.
Alcona plays at Posen on Friday.
