Hillman clinched the Little Dipper North Star League Championship with a convincing 59-44 win over Mio on Friday. The league championship is Hillman’s fourth consecutive title and 10th title in the last 15 years.

The game was a battle of the two top teams in the division with Hillman leading by one at halftime. The second half was a different story as Hillman outscored Mio 14-3 in the third quarter and outscored Mio 29-15 in the second half.

Junior wing Aedan Tucker had a big night scoring a season-high 19 points and junior center Evan Crane added 18 points and six boards. Senior Brenden Rouleau added five steals to go with his nine points, and senior point guard Cuyler Schultz led the team in assists with eight and also added six rebounds.

The game honored seniors John Ruthko, Brenden Rouleau, and Cuyler Schultz.

The conference title was a nice addition to an already impressive resume being a part of three districts, three conferences, and a regional.

“What a great victory tonight!” Hillman coach Eric Muszynski said on Friday. “Always nice to send your seniors out in the right way playing in their last NSL home game. We played so well tonight and everyone contributed and I’m proud of my guys and happy for the community!”
